About this course

You will need to meet at least one of these criteria:
- the CIM Professional Certificate in Marketing (either 2002 or 2008 syllabus)
- any business or marketing Bachelors or Masters Degree (or an equivalent qualification) where a minimum of one third of credits come from marketing
- experience in a marketing management role that has provided you with the ability to be able to demonstrate that you can meet the learning outcomes of the CIM Professional Certificate in Marketing if required to do so and can pass the entry test to Level 6.

Course programme

This qualification is ideal for marketers who are concerned with managing the marketing process at an operational level. The course develops your own personal and team management skills, introduces you to basic accounts and the financial aspects of marketing budgets as well as making you aware of the major aspects of marketing planning by focusing on customer needs and expectations. Please note that in order to undertake continuous assessments or examinations you must be a student member of CIM and that membership, examination and assessment fees are not included in our cost which are detailed in our prospectus.

Entry criteria
- CIM Certificate or Professional Certificate in Marketing
- A non-marketing degree from a CIM approved university.
- NVQ or SVQ Level 3 in Marketing or Level 4 in any other subject.
- Other appropriate qualifications approved by CIM.
- Evidence of at least 3 years marketing management experience at senior level.

Duration
The four modules studied through our blended learning programme of a two-day workshop for each module and guided home study will typically take around one year to complete. You can start study at any time.

The assessment
For the Professional Diploma in Marketing you can select to be assessed either through written examination or through continuous assessment (i.e. project-based assignments) for each module. The examinations take place twice a year in June and December. Continuous assessment can be undertaken at any time of the year.
