Course programme

Strategic level is the third level of the professional qualification and consists of four exams.

  • E3 Strategic Management - You will learn how to develop the skills and abilities needed by strategic leaders to direct and achieve the long-term success of their organisations. You will also cover formulating and implementing strategy and how to successfully lead and manage change.

  • P3 Risk Management - You will learn how to identify, evaluate and respond to risks that could impact on the implementation of strategy, how to develop the competencies required to analyse and apply the techniques, processes and internal control systems required to manage risk and how to manage risks associated with both cash flows and capital investment decisions.

  • F3 Financial Strategy - You will learn how to formulate and implement financial strategy to support the overall strategy of the organisation, how to develop skills to evaluate and recommend alternative sources of finance and how to develop competencies required to value investment opportunities including divestments, mergers and acquisitions.

  • Strategic Case Study - For this module you will apply the knowledge you have gained in the three subjects to reflect real-life work situations.

  • Students must complete all three objective tests within this level before they can sit the case study assessment.

CIMA will test a variety of skills including research and analysis, how to present information, and communication skills. The move to more case study assessments has been deliberate to test a wider range of skills and integrated learning across the topics by reflecting real work situations. The case studies consolidate the cross discipline learning at each level.
