2. Course description This qualification will give you a broader perspective of the organisational issues facing HR professionals and enable you to develop effective analytical and problem solving skills. This course is intended for people who are seeking to develop a career in HR management and development OR are working in the field of HR management and development and need to extend their knowledge and skills. Some candidates may have responsibilities for implementing HR policies and strategies and would find it relevant to understand the role of HR in the wider organisational and environmental context. The course consists of the following modules: -Developing Professional Practice (5DPP) -Business Issues and the Contexts of Human Resources (5BIC) -Using Information in Human Resources (5IHR) -Resource and Talent Planning (5RTP) -Employee Engaging (5EEG) -Meeting Organisational Development Needs (5NDM) -Developing Coaching and Mentoring within Organisations (5DCM) The course will consist of an exploration of these topics and will include a degree of research skills. Pattern of Study: The course will require you to attend one evening per week plus a study block lasting one full day (planned for March/April).

3. Entry requirements At least a level 3 / 4 qualification in HR or Management, or an unrelated degree is required. It is essential to attend an interview before enrolment and complete an initial assessment exercise. Communication Skills - Ability to communicate fluently (verbally and in text). Ability to work as part of a team. Literacy - A good understanding of the written word and an ability to analyse information. Numeracy - Ability to cope with four applications of number. Equipment required No equipment required 5. Assessment method There will be a programme of assignments, exercises and presentations within the various modules. In addition to these you will be required to produce a Portfolio.
