About the course
This course consists of a number of HRM and Business related units. Its aim is to provide you with both knowledge of the HR profession and a set of transferrable skills which you can use to help improve the performance of the organisation in which you work.
Students must be fully aware of the commitment to this course which involves an % minimum attendance requirement and substantial self-directed study. You will also be required to attend pre-arranged individual tutorials. Teaching methods include lectures, seminars, facilitated workshops, case study analysis and exam preparation. You must become a student member at the beginning of your course. Entry requirements
This course is a postgraduate equivalent level course. Students are expected to have had relevant work experience and be academically qualified. This means either an appropriate degree or the CIPD Level 5 Certificate/Diploma in HR Management. Discussion with a member of the HR teaching team is required prior to or at enrolment.
Please note that the CIPD Level 7 courses are not available under the Advanced Learner Loan Scheme.

Subjects covered Units Studied Human Resource Management in Context Leading, Managing and Developing People Employee Engagement Resourcing and Talent Management Studying these units will give you an increased knowledge of the environment in which the management and development of human resources takes place. CIPD membership and qualifications are widely acknowledged as a benchmark for professionalism and are a requirement for many roles in the human resources and learning and development functions. Assessment Most units are assessed by one or two pieces of work using a variety of assessments methods such as an assignment, exam, case study or project. Progression After successfully completing this qualification you will be welcome to progress to the Level 7 CIPD Advanced Diploma in Human Resource Management. Discussion with a tutor is required prior to or at enrolment. Students will be responsible for your own membership joining fees payable directly to the CIPD and any exam fees. There is a well stocked library within the College and individual lecturers will advise on recommended texts. NB. The Level 7 Diploma is not available but will be available from September .
