CIPD Professional Development Scheme

Our CIPD graduate programme takes people working in HR from a foundation level of qualification all the way through to full graduate status. The programme broadens knowledge and builds effectiveness, benefitting the business and the employee alike. Designed for HR professionals who wish to develop their management career in personnel and development, the PDS is a programme based on the CIPD's Professional Standards. Consisting of four separate fields, the PDS leads to graduate membership of the CIPD (MCIPD), with licentiate membership awarded for completion of an individual field:

* Leadership and Management
* HR Electives or Trainer Electives / Diploma in Training and Development (DTD)
* People Management and Development (PMD)
* Applied Personnel and Development (APD)

The PDS takes a minimum of two and a half years to complete (the average is closer to three years). The PDS hones your skills and knowledge to ensure you are thoroughly competent across a wide range of disciplines, thus becoming a thinking performer.
With three main start dates each year, there should always be a programme for the next field starting a few months after you complete your exams. Our exams are set and assessed by BPP, as approved by the CIPD. Running our own exams allows us to offer you greater flexibility, providing an additional exam sitting each year compared to many of our competitors who offer the CIPD national exams.

Our pass rates are significantly above the national average. Although if you do have to retake an exam you will not have very long to wait, so your knowledge and exam feedback remain fresh.

The training days will be tutor-led interactive sessions that include discussions, case studies, group work and exercises which bring the subjects to life as they will relate to real scenarios. These sessions are great networking opportunities and you will draw on both the tutor's and your fellow students' experiences. During the home study periods, you will need to dedicate approximately twelve hours a week towards background reading and the completion of assignments.
