The CIPS Diploma in Procurement and Supply is designed for those individuals with experience in Procurement who wish to gain additional specialist skills and gain an internationally recognised qualification.
It focuses on how organisational procedures and processes perform in procurement and supply, including negotiating, planning, risk management, supplier and contract management.

Course programme

There are 5 compulsory modules: Contexts of Procurement and Supply Business needs in Procurement & Supply Sourcing in Procurement & Supply Negotiating and Contracting in P&S Managing Contracts & Relationships in P&S All five subjects must be completed to achieve the Level 4 Diploma. Further information on all of the subjects in the Diploma can be found on the CIPS Website. The Diploma addresses planning and forecasting for future demand, forward planning for contract development, negotiating volumes, margins and standards, creating and controlling specifications, and contract management. It also covers the supply market and chain, negotiating with suppliers, conflict resolution and performance review. You will need to have completed either the CIPS L2 Certificate in procurement and supply operations, the CIPS L3 Advanced certificate in procurement and supply or the CIPS International advanced certificate in purchasing and supply. Alternatively, you will need either two years’ experience in a business environment and two A-level qualifications / international equivalents or higher level qualifications. Exemptions for individual modules may be granted by the institute on demonstration of relevant qualifications or modules taken at degree level. Only CIPS may grant exemptions and you will need to contact them direct. Course fees are £395 per module. Additional costs apply for CIPS membership, exams and workbooks.
