Course programme

Due to become Mandatory for all persons handling refrigerants under European F-GAS regulations.

Day one - In depth air con and refrigerant handling principles covered along with relevant legislation, various methods of fault diagnosis and repair and correct work practices.

Day two - Candidates sit the CITB safe handling of refrigerants exam and also undergo some practical testing on various air con and refrigerant handling problems and solutions. CITB accreditation lasts for 3 years.

CITB candidates must provide 2 x passport photos, a driving licence/passport and National Insurance number for the CITB exam and certification procedures.

The course covers air conditioning fault finding and diagnosis and covers common faults on particular vehicles and how to identify them quickly. It also covers correct service procedures and common misconceptions in the automotive air con field.
