To give an understanding of delegates' responsibilities and accountability for site safety, health and welfare, current health and safety legislation. This industry-recognised course is ideal for companies who need to meet the ever-increasing demand for evidence of sound health and safety management on site. The course fee includes the ConstructionSkills publication Construction Site Safety Health, Safety and Environmental Information Manual (GE700) as well as other course materials. Suitable for: This course is intended for project managers, site managers and supervisors as well as proprietors of small to medium sized companies. Client-based personnel would also benefit from attending the course. Possession of this qualification is listed in the Approved Code of Practice for the Construction (Design and Management) (CDM) Regulations as a demonstration of competence in the role of site manager.

Course programme
This 5 day course equips delegates with a working knowledge of health and safety legislation and helps them to identify and manage possible on site hazards, promoting a safer working environment for employees, contractors and the public. By the end of the course delegates will be able to recognise the health and safety implications of supervising construction sites.
The course covers the Health and Safety at Work Act and the regulations relevant to the construction industry and includes site set up, CDM, risk assessment, method statements, scaffolding, electricity, excavations, demolition and confined spaces.
