Plumbing Qualifications – City & Guilds 6129 at Able Skills – Week End Training
At Able Skills we have become aware that many people require a qualification but are unable to attend training facilities throughout the working week due to ongoing work and other commitments. In order to cater for these individuals and make qualifications accessible to everyone, Able Skills has devised a weekend 6129 plumbing qualification training programme.
Training Dates
This qualification requires 19 weekends of training, additionally you will be required to attend for a 9 day block period at the end of the course to cover larger assessments. These dates can be arranged with your instructor once you commence training.
Whilst on your 6129 plumbing course with Able Skills, you should achieve the following listed competencies of the C&G 6129 Technical Certificate:

Cold Water Systems
Domestic Hot Water Systems
Sanitation Systems
Central Heating Systems (Pipe work Only)
Electrical Supply and Earth Continuity
Sheet Weatherings
Environmental Awareness
Effective Working Relationships
Each section has practical assessments and multiple choice exams, all practical assessments are recorded, photographed and signed off by Able Skills qualified assessors, this is over seen by Able Skills own qualified Internal Verifiers. This system ensures that the entire course, practical through to written/online exams is carried out here on site at Able Skills and without delay.

We are keen to ensure that all attendees on all courses receive the highest quality of training and support to give them the best possible chance of passing any exams and assessments. We have relevant staff in place to cater for any difficulties you may encounter, including provision of readers for paper and online exams.
At the end of your course, your completed portfolio together with the results of your assessments and exams are submitted to City & Guilds for certification and award for the City & Guilds 6129 Level 2 Plumbing Technical Certificate.
Throughout your plumbing training we will provide all tools and materials required for you to successfully complete your assessments. All we ask is that you ensure that you have protective footwear and fire-retardant overall are required for health and safety (both items can be purchased at Able Skills).
We will also provide you with the recommended reading material: Plumbing NVQ and Technical Certificate Level 2 by JTL.
This reference book will provide you with all the relevant information required to successfully complete this course. If you use this reference book as recommended by your instructor, it will help you achieve your goal.
Course Duration:
38 weeks broken down into 19 weekends and two 5 day block periods at the end of the weekend training.
Course Training Programme:
2 consecutive weekends followed by a two weekend break and so on.
The two 5 day block periods can be arranged to suit you after the weekends have been completed.

We will arrange for you to have any questions answered by our qualified plumber assessors and allow you to spend time deciding if plumbing is the career for you and if Able Skills is where you want to train.
Upon completion of this course, Able Skills can also offer training in other areas. We can deliver the VRQ for Part P Domestic Installers and Gas training for CCNI plus all appliances.
In addition, we also offer training and assessment for Energy Efficiency, Water Regulations, Unvented Hot Water Systems and Solar Thermal Domestic Hot Water.
