Course programme

The City and Guilds Inspection of Electrical Installations - 2391-10 training course offers a comprehensive introduction to: inspection and testing, test equipment, the order of testing, continuity of protective conductors, insulation resistance tests, polarity and earth electrode testing, earth fault loop impedance tests, RCD tests, other rarely used tests and recording of results. Any further electrical training would have a solid foundation following completion of this electrical course.

This City and Guilds electrical training course will be assessed with a two and a half hour written examination. The examination will take place on a Thursday evening (usually on the last day of the course) and is only available to sit six times a year. The dates and times of examinations will be set by the City and Guilds examination board.

Candidates are also required to complete a practical electrical training assessment which lasts for around three hours. This must be taken on the fourth day, or at a mutually convenient time for both the PASS electrical training centre and the candidate.

Both sections must be passed to receive City and Guilds Certification.
