Suitable for: Entry Requirements: This course does not require any prior Beauty Therapy qualifications, however all students must have a real passion for Make-up as this is an intensive course. Currently this course is fully funded by the government for students under 19 years old and as such we are currently unable to offer this course to student over this age.

About this course

If you plan to undertake a full NVQ in Beauty Therapy after the Level 2 Award in Make-up you will still need complete the Make-up unit tests and assessments. However, this course can be used as evidence of your practical skills in some cases.

Course programme

Students that enrol on the Level 2 Award in Make-up will learn both the practical and theoretical knowledge needed to prepare and apply the following make-up looks:

  • Day Make-up
  • Evening Make-up
  • Special occasion Make-up

This City and Guilds short course qualification can be completed over an intensive 4 days.

If you have not already completed a Beauty Therapy qualification before you will also need to complete the City and Guilds Level 2 Award in Health and Safety, which takes 3 days to complete.

By the end of this course you will be able to:

  • Understand the different environmental conditions suitable for makeup
  • Provide a detailed skin analysis and client consultation
  • Select and use appropriate products, tools and equipment to suit different clients skin types and needs
  • Complete a make-up treatment to the satisfaction of a client
  • Provide suitable aftercare advice
