It will also support candidates in demonstarting the required level of competency in inspection and testing of domestic installations when being assessed for self certification within a Part P scheme. Suitable for: This qualification was developed in conjunction with the electrical industry (including NICEIC and ECA) in order to meet the needs of the industry and centres and to provide candidates with an introduction of how to inspect and test (conduct the initial verification) of electrical installations. It is aimed at practicing electricians who have not carried out inspection and testing since qualifying or who require some update training before going onto achieve the City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in inspection, testing and certification of electrical installations (2391-10).

One 1.5 hour GOLA on-line multiple choice test covering outcomes 1-3 consisting of 50 questions (2392-101)
One practical assessment for the unit (2392-102)

Course review:
There are no formal entry requirements for candidates undertaking this qualification. It would be expected that candidates have a basic knowledge and understanding of BS 7671:2008(2011) , electrical science and principles. It would also be expected that candidates have experience of electrical installation work either within the electrical contracting industry or an allied trade.All candidates will be provided with an extensive training materials written by the awarding bodies lead provider. All candidates are required to bring along a non-programmable scientific calculator and standard stationary.
The course is designed to verify that candidates are fully familiar with the content and application of Guidance Note 3 published by the IET. The course deals with initial verification of domestic installations only and does not enter the topics of periodic testing, commercial, industrial or three phase installations. These advanced topics are assessed during the level 3 course (2395) which candidates can progress onto.
