The Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Adults) in England is aimed at learners who are working or volunteering in a Health and Social Care environment, primarily under supervision. Those who are working in a management role or not under supervision are advised to enrol on the Level 3 Diploma.
The Level 2 Diploma allows learners to acquire and develop the knowledge, understanding and competence of the key principles of care.
Learners select from a range of optional units that allow then to tailor the qualification to meet the needs of their setting and their employer. This includes things such as learning disabilities and dementia care.

About this course
There are no formal entry requirements for the Level 2 Diploma. However, learners undertaking the Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care MUST be working or volunteering with adults in an appropriate Health and Social Care setting and will be observed by an assessor and by suitably qualified member of the workplace team.
learners will need to have proficient English literacy and language skills to achieve the qualification.
Learners must have access to a computer with internet capabilities and the ability to edit and upload Word documents.
Learners must be over 18 years of age.

Course programme
The Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care is a competency-based qualification designed to be assessed around the learner’s normal work role through direct observation, appropriate witness accounts and learner reflection on real work activities. Where knowledge gaps are identified by the assessor, learners will be supported to access additional training and development activities which may include in-house training, research activities and small project work.
Learners are encourage to submit evidence of any relevant prior learning activities such as mandatory training certificates (e.g. moving and handling, safeguarding vulnerable adults), in-house non-accredited training activities (e.g. Common Induction Standards, Managing Challenging Behaviour, etc) as this can be used to by Assessor to support progression on the Diploma.
