The City & Guilds 6129 Plumbing Course has been designed for those people wishing to enter the plumbing industry and gain formal qualifications with hands on training before they move into the City & Guilds 6089 Plumbing NVQ, which is assessed onsite. To gain a plumbing qualification recognised by employers. To be confident and competent to install plumbing equipment and plumbing services. To have gained plumbing experience and knowledge to be able to work as a self-employed plumber or to gain plumbing employment. Suitable for: The City & Guilds 6129 Technical Certificate in Plumbing has no pre-requisite for this plumbing course making it suitable for any individual wishing to training as a plumber. This includes New Entrants, Additional Trade Skills entrants and Service Leavers looking at Resettlement options.

The City & Guilds 6129 Plumbing Course has been designed for those people wishing to enter the plumbing industry and gain formal qualifications with hands on training before they move into the City & Guilds 6089 Plumbing NVQ, which is assessed onsite. Once a student has gained the 6129 and 6089 they are can be classed as a qualified plumber to level 2 NVQ Craft Plumber.
The course is run (Monday to Friday) - although weekend courses are available. The City & Guilds 6129 level 2 forms part of the City & Guilds NVQ 2 in Plumbing; and is a mandatory prerequisite.
The City & Guilds 6129 technical Certificate starts with basic pipe work skills and moves onto more complex plumbing tasks including airing cupboards, bathroom suites, above ground drainage, central heating installation, lead work and low carbon steel pipework.
City & Guilds 6129 Plumbing students also receive a free tool kit. This contains all the tools and equipment they will need on the course. It is yours to keep at the end of the course.

City & Guilds 6129 Technical Certificate in Plumbing practical tasks are:
- Working safely with LPG gas, lead, working at heights using ladders and towers, lifting and moving loads.
- Copper pipework installation, bending, jointing and testing.
- Installation of plastic above ground dischard pipe work and testing.
- Installing tanks and cylinders in airing cupboards
- Working with low carbon steel pipe work, cutting, threading and jointing.
- Installing of a bathroom suite complete with hot and cold pipework, plus installing and connecting central heating radiators.
- Cutting and forming leadwork for a roof structure while weathering a chimney stack and vent pipe.
- Basic electrical connections
A deposit of £200 is required to reserve a place on this plumbing course with the remaining fees paid prior to commencement

Crownship’s qualified assessors sign off you work throughout the duration of the course.
