Information about the course

This is a minimum 24 credit qualification, consisting of three mandatory units (total 18 credits) and optional units to the minimum value of 6 credits (to a maximum value of 18 credits).

Unit 1 - Preparing to teach in the Lifelong Learning sector - 6 credits

Unit 2 - Planning and enabling learning - 9 credits

Unit 3 - Principles of practice of assessment - 3 credits

Optional units - equalivent to 6 credits

Course content

You will cover classroom management skills, course planning, lesson planning, teaching and assessment methods and develop these in both theoretical and practical applications

Additionality

When will I receive my results?

Results will be forwarded on as soon as they are received at the college. Please note that certificates, where awarded, can take up to 4 months to be received at the college before forwarding on to learners.

This course is assessed through coursework and lesson observations

Progression

You can follow this course with the Diploma in Teaching and Learning or The Diploma in Teaching for Skills for Life
