The qualification is suitable for those who work or want to work as:

• teachers in the Lifelong Learning Sector, ie further, adult and community learning and the voluntary sector.
• technicians and support staff in further and adult education.

You need to have a level 3 qualification in your subject specialism and Level 2 in Literacy and Numeracy.

Have access to 30 teaching practice hours (whether pre -service or in -service)

This is a minimum 24 credit qualification, consisting of three mandatory units (total 18 credits) and optional units to the minimum value of 6 credits (to a maximum value of 18 credits).

Unit 1 - Preparing to teach in the Lifelong Learning sector - 6 credits

Unit 2 - Planning and enabling learning - 9 credits

Unit 3 - Principles of practice of assessment - 3 credits

Optional units - equalivent to 6 credits

You will cover classroom management skills, course planning, lesson planning, teaching and assessment methods and develop these in both theoretical and practical applications

When will I receive my results?

Results will be forwarded on as soon as they are received at the college. Please note that certificates, where awarded, can take up to 4 months to be received at the college before forwarding on to learners.

This course is assessed through coursework and lesson observations
