City & Guilds Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Children's Care Learning and Development (QCF)

The primary assessment method for this competence-based qualification will take place in the workplace under real work conditions, using observations and professional discussion by a qualified assessor and/or testimony from an expert witness. A portfolio of evidence will provide written evidence for assignments, self-reflective accounts and implementation of a research project.

This Diploma is aimed at learners who are working with children and young Learners from 0-19 years. The qualification meets the minimum standards for managing Child Care settings as set out in DHSSPS Childminding and Day Care (Children under 12). It is designed to guide and assess the development of knowledge and skills including those relating to leading teams and managing resources within children and young Learner's settings.
