The modules delivered place a strong emphasis on the safe use of the products, environmental factors, legislation and successful achievement of the assessment, covering the following topics:

  • Legislation

  • Personal Safety and Contamination

  • Environment and Wildlife affected by treatments

  • The Product Label

  • The Pesticide Container, Storage and Transportation

  • Application Equipment, Excess Pesticide and Container Disposal

  • Record Keeping

  • Product Use – Preparation

  • Product Use - Target Species, Reasons for Control and Non-Target Species

  • Product Use – Cleaning, Storage and Records

The day consists of both classroom and practical external demonstrations, so wet weather clothing is required. It will deal with the use of the products against rats, moles and rabbits.

This will be confirmed prior to the attendance date. Assessments are in the form of one-to-one discussion and practical demonstrations with a registered City & Guilds Assessor.
