Yes if you have an interest in beauty therapy and would eventually like to work in the industry.
What do I need?
3 GCSEs at grades C-E preferably including English, Maths and Science. You also need to demonstrate good communication skills and enjoy working with people.
What will I study?
The course content includes these mandatory units:

• Ensure your actions reduce risks to health and safety
• Fulfill reception duties
• Promote additional products and services to clients
• Develop and maintain your effectiveness at work
• Improve and maintain facial skin condition
• Provide eyelash and eyebrow treatments
• Remove hair using waxing techniques
• Provide manicure treatment
• Provide pedicure treatment
• Provide make-up treatment

You'll also use Demalogica skin care products - only available from professional skin care therapists.
Where will I study?
Baltic Campus
You'll be based at our fantastic £39million Baltic campus on the quayside. The campus has a prime location on Gateshead quayside, and state-of-the-art facilities including a Jacuzzi, gym and sauna, a 200 seat theatre, state-of-the-art classrooms, training kitchen and restaurant, refectory, bistro and vending areas.
How will I be assessed?
You will be continuously assessed in both practical and theory work throughout the course. You will build up a portfolio of work to support your learning. This will lead to the National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 2 in Beauty Therapy.
How will I be taught?
You will develop your skills within a realistic working environment provided through superbly equipped college salons, and will be taught by a very experienced team of lecturers.
What qualification will I get?
City and Guilds NVQ Level 2 Beauty Therapy
Can I go onto further study?
You could continue your studies to gain an NVQ Level 3.
What are the career opportunities?
On successful completion of all units included in this course you can either seek employment as a Level 2 Beauty Therapist working within a salon, leisure centre, health club or specialise in retail as a beauty consultant. Many NVQ Level 2 Therapists become self-employed and work on a flexible basis for themselves
