Who is the course for?

The Cleaning and Support Services (BI) NVQ is designed for those responsible for cleaning building interiors.

Accreditation

The course is accredited by City & Guilds.

Course Content

Candidates must complete a total of seven units, two mandatory and five optional (at least one optional unit from Group 1 and at least two optional units from Group 2). The remaining units can be selected from either Group 1 or 2.

Mandatory Units

• Ensure your own actions reduce risks to health and safety
• Promote and maintain service delivery

Optional Units (Group 1)

• Support the work of a team
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with customers
• Control the use of resources
• Communicate effectively in the workplace

Optional Units (Group 2)

• Building Interiors
• Clean floors manually
• Clean furniture, fittings and vertical surfaces
• Clean toilets and washrooms manually
• Clean and protect floors
• Clean carpets and soft furnishings
• Clean surfaces up to maximum height of four metres

Progression Opportunities

Successful completion of Level 2 NVQ in Cleaning and Support Services would allow candidates to progress to the Level 2 Certificate in Team Leading (ILM)
following:

• Level 2 Certificate in Cleaning Science
• Level 3 Diploma in Cleaning Services Supervision
• Level 2 Introductory Certificate in Team Leading (ILM)
