There are no formal requirements.
Description
This
programme is intended for people who wish to develop their team leading
skills. Candidates should either currently be in, or aspiring to a team
leading role. The award is also appropriate for candidates working within
teams who, while not specifically designated as team leaders, have some
responsibilities for their team's performance. Team leading is a generic
role within and across organisations and sectors; this award contributes
to lifelong learning through the development of team leading knowledge and
skills and is appropriate for a wide range of potential candidates. This
course is delivered in two ways, 2 people taught face to face (either at
BCOT or in the workplace) or Distance Learning for 1 person (workbooks,
email and telephone support).
Course Content
To achieve your
qualification candidates must successfully complete seven units:

Organise and develop yourself
· Organise and communicate information
·
Organise and improve your team's work
· Organise your team's resources
and work safely
· Maintain and develop effective working relationships
·
Help your team members to develop their performance
· Resolve customer
service issues
Where a course is aimed towards an
assessment/examination, it is expected that all students will enter for
the qualification.
Method of Assessment
All candidates will
be provided with specially written learning materials. They will contain
all the knowledge needed to meet the requirements of the qualification.
The assessments you need to complete to obtain this award are:

Six assessments marked by your facilitator
· One externally set and
marked assessment
· Seven reflective summaries - one for each completed
assignment
· Evidence Portfolio - your assignments, CV, job
description, and details of any relevant and recent training undertaken
Progression
Successful
completion of the Certificate in Team Leading course can lead to:
·
NVQ in Team Leading Level 2
· Certificate in Management Level 3
·
NVQ Level 3 in Management
Materials
All candidates will be provided with a fully comprehensive
reading and activity pack. They contain all the knowledge needed to meet
the requirements of the qualification.
