Who is the course for?
For those students with a general interest in construction and wishing to learn basic brickwork skills.

What is the course about?
The course will cover the following topics:

Identification of health hazards.
Preparation of a safe working area.
Basic bricklaying techniques including the use of two or more bricklaying bonds.
Preparation of mortar.
Use of basic drawings.

Will I need anything else?
Boots and overalls are required

How long & often do I attend?
The course is run over 10 weeks. You will attend for 2 hours per week starting Wednesday 16th September 2009.
The course will cost 120.00
Minimum attendance 90%
How will I be assessed?
Verbal feedback given on all work by tutor on an ongoing basis throughout the course.

No formal examinations or assessments on this course.

What opportunities will this lead to?
Progression to more formal qualifications in this area dependant upon entry requirements.
