This course provides the basis for a professional engineering career in the mechanical or manufacturing industry. The course studies the use of new technology in engineering but also relies heavily on the academic study of maths, science and materials engineering.
The course objectives are to provide mechanical fitters with the foundation knowledge of electrical principles and basic concepts of electrical maintenance. It will also provide candidates with the knowledge to competently carry out first time maintenance and fault finding techniques.
Advanced Apprenticeships are for learners employed as an Apprentice by a company within Devon and Cornwall. Funding is guaranteed by the Government for the training, with priority being given to learners starting aged 16 to 18 years. We can assist in matching learners to employers.
