Course Content
ACFM is a specific discipline within the broader spectrum of non-destructive testing (NDT) which works by detecting and measuring the minute variations in magnetic fields that are caused by anomalies in the surface of a structure. This electromagnetic data is transmitted directly to computers on the surface which analyse the data using specialist software.
ACFM will allow almost any inspection engineer to carry out comprehensive analysis of structures. Conducting an ACFM inspection doesn't require the test area to be exposed, so there is no need for cleaning or de-greasing of the structure being inspected, nor to paint or replace coatings after inspection. This makes ACFM a fast, as well as accurate, inspection method. Another significant benefit of ACFM is that all inspection data can be electronically saved, making it simple to compare information from previous inspections, allowing assessments on degradation rate to be made.
We are the first commercial diver training school to offer ACFM training. Our course has been developed, and will be delivered, by our team of experienced training instructors, all of whom have extensive industry experience of both NDT and ACFM testing.
Training will take place in dedicated classrooms and will feature lectures as well as practical and theoretical exercises. Students will be trained/ certified to SNT TC1A.
