Introduction

This course is a four day course which includes training and assessments on domestic changeover to commercial core gas safety. It includes the installation first fix of commercial pipework and appliances, the commissioning, service, repair and breakdown of 3 commercial appliances, and tightness testing and direct purging of installation pipework. This course can also be attended for those candidates wishing to renew their commercial gas qualification(re-assessment).

Any experienced gas engineers who wishes to expand their scope to incorporate work on commercial boilers and appliances.

  • CODNCO1
    • Changeover Core Domestic to Core Commercial (NG) Training & Assessments Cover (2 Days)
    • Two Assessment Papers
    • Practical work - (Practical work will involve you to practise working on Commercial boilers and rigs.)
  • TPCP1A
    • Testing & Purging IGE/UP/1A below 1m3 & 21m bar Training & Assessments Cover (1 Day)
    • One Assessment Paper
    • Practical Work -(Practical work will involve you testing & purging pipe work on the rigs)
  • ICPN1
    • 1ST Fix of commercial pipe work up to 75m bar & 150mm diameter Training & Assessment s Cover (½ Day)
    • One Assessment Paper
    • Practical Work - (Practical work will involve installation & testing of commercial pipe work)
  • CIGA1
    • Commercial Indirect Fired Gas Heating Appliances Training & Assessments (½ Day)
    • One Assessment Paper
    • Practical Work - (Practical work will involve fault finding on appliances)
  • CORT1
    • Commercial Overhead Radiant Plaque and Tube Heaters Training & Assessments (½ Day)
    • One Assessment Paper
    • Practical Work - (Practical work will involve Fault Finding on appliances)
Qualification

There is an assessment for each module and on completion you will be issued a certificate from ERS our awarding body. Once you have received your certificate you can then apply to Gas Safe to register on the Gas Safe Register.

Should the core certificate run out then the validation of all other certificates received after the date of the Core, including changeover cores, cease even though they may have time to run. As soon as the core category has been re-assessed and the assessment passed, the other categories will all become valid again.
