Course programme

Course Content

This course is designed to run for a minimum of 16 hours, 20 including child and infant. The qualification is valid for three years.

Syllabus

The students will learn about:

  • Incident management
  • Contents of First Aid Kits
  • Managment of an unconscious casualty
  • Control of bleeding
  • Resuscitation of children and infants
  • Resuscitaion of adults
  • Management of choking
  • Medical conditions common in adults
  • Medical conditions common in children and infants
  • Incident management

Is there an exam?
Yes

The course is externally assessed. This consists of:

  • Practical CPR assessment and casualty management skills
  • Management of bleeding
  • Theory test (multiple choice question paper)
