Introduction This vocationally related qualification offers training for those wishing to be complementary therapists and enter an academically progressive and professionally employable career in the complementary health therapy sector.
The qualification will provide and develop skills to communicate with the client and plan and deliver basic complementary treatments safely and effectively.
The modular units will provide essential knowledge and support practitioner skills development in body massage therapy, reflexology and reflective practice in reflexology and aromatherapy and reflective practice in aromatherapy for complementary therapies.
Course Fees
· Candidates who are between 16-19 years old - full time courses are free
· Educational Maintenance Allowance may be available to candidates between 16-19 years old
· Professional uniform cost £75.00 approx
· Professional shoes cost £25.00-£39.00 approx
· Nurses fob watch cost £ 6.99 approx
· Aromatherapy kit £130.00
· Student insurance with the professional body £35 approx.

Students will be expected to assist in sourcing their own clients for mandatory case study work:
· Student Resource fund £20.00 (returnable at end of academic year)

All essential reading material is generally available in the College Library.
Course Units Supporting core units are:
· Knowledge of anatomy & physiology for complementary therapies
· Knowledge of less common pathology for complementary therapies
· Health, safety and hygiene for complementary therapies
· Healthy eating and well-being for the complementary therapy client
· Business practice for complementary therapies
· Principles and practice of complementary therapies
Assessment Assessment will include internal and external format and will be collected in a portfolio of evidence. This will be developed with supportive continuous feedback throughout the course:

· evidence your practical skills
· prove competency working on clients in a realistic working environment
Any external assessment is set and marked by the awarding body.
Further Opportunities Progression onto further qualifications in complementary therapies and Higher Education with the Foundation Degree in Complementary Approaches to Health (1st & 2nd of University sited at Stratford-upon-Avon College carried onto a full BSc.Hons in Complementary Medicine, completed over 12-18 months by distance learning)
