About this course
You do not need any formal qualification in, or experience of, computer hardware but you must be aged 19 or over and have a basic standard of English. If you need help with your English or Maths, Preston College can provide you with support at a time to suit you, which will bring you up to the required standard.

Introduction:
This Intermediate Level course will help you master the basics of understanding, repairing and installing PC components. It provides an introduction to the inside workings of a PC system and by the end of the course, you should be able to build and configure a PC system from scratch. Successful completion of this course will provide you with an OCNW (Open College of the North West) Level 2 `A Unit` Certificate in Personal Computer Hardware.
Study Mode & Location:
This 16 week part-time evening course will last for three hours per week. It will be held at Preston College, Fulwood Campus, St Vincent`s Road, Preston, PR2 8UR.

Assessment:
You will be assessed via an assignment (set by the course tutor) and a collection of job record sheets.
