Who is this course for? This course is for those who have little or no experience of using a computer and want to learn about new technology including ICT language; how to use a computer for everyday communication.
Previous knowledge required: None
What will I study? You will study: mouse skills and basic keyboarding skills computer terminology text entering and editing skills proof reading and making changes to a document following verbal instruction to carry out a task reading skills relevant to assessing information from the Internet
What else will I do? This course offers you the opportunity to study on a programme that meets your individual need/s. You will work in a small group in a friendly and supportive environment.
How will I be assessed? You will be assessed at regular intervals throughout your College programme. Following an initial assessment, you will be assessed through course work tasks and assignments.
What will I achieve? You will have the opportunity to achieve an Agored Cymru, Entry Level 3 certificate: Essential Skills and Computers Don't Bite.
What can I do afterwards? You can: move on to other College computer courses e.g. Word processing, Internet and Email, Digital photography, CLAIT join other Essential Skills courses.
Materials required: Note pad, pen and file.
