Computing for Beginners

Description:
This is a course designed for complete beginners. The course will provide a gentle and supportive introduction to using a computer and is specifically for anyone who wishes to learn the basics.

The course covers:
  • Getting to know the computer
    • How do Computers work?
    • What is an operating system and what is its role in the computer?
    • Working with files and directories
  • Aspects covered during the course:
    • Confidently using a Keyboard and a mouse.
    • Presenting information using word processing and graphics
    • Competently using the internet to find information
    • Emailing and Online Chat
    • Internet Safety - Make the internet facility on your computer safe for your children to use and learn about keeping your information safe and secure.


Qualifications and Progression:
Students can progress to a more advanced computing class.
