Do you want to be a: Computer Programmer, Systems Analyst, DataBase Designer, Software Project Leader. The aim of the course is to lead to employment or further studies. If you wish to further your studies when you finish the course, then the HND award, will allow Progression into various university computing degree courses; particularly at Glasgow Caledonian University and the University of the West of Scotland respectively. The Software course covers a variety of industry standard software such as: C++, C, Visual Basic.Net and Java Programming Languages, Advanced IT Applications (MS Office), Systems Analysis & Design (UML/SSADM), Oracle DataBase Vendor qualification, 3D Modelling and Animation. The course has recently been upgraded to include C programming and 3D Modelling & Animation, so that it is closer to the needs of employers.

One Higher Grade pass (A-C) and 3 Standard Grade passes (1-3) to include evidence of numeracy and communication skills, OR appropriate SQA NC modules or NQ units. Candidates over 21 may be accepted with lower qualifications, depending on work experience.
