CONFINED SPACE ENTRY INDUSTRIAL TRAINING COURSE

The course will involve elements of
classroom and practical tuition. Delegates
will be continually assessed throughout the
course.
Successful completion will result in
certification for a maximum of 3 years
(certification periods may be shorter,
depending on individual company's policy).
A re-assessment will continue the
certification, if undertaken within the 36-
month period. The successful delegate will
be deemed competent to enter a confined
space under supervision.

MEDICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum age of 18 years
- Candidates should be free of medical conditions which are contraindications for this type of
work, including:
· Heart disease / chest pain
· High blood pressure
· Epilepsy, fits, blackouts
· Fear of heights / vertigo
· Giddiness / difficulty with balance
· Impaired limb function
· Alcohol or drug dependence
· Psychiatric illness / counselling
· Diabetes
- Candidates should be physically able to perform the task expected in terms of strength,
agility and co-ordination. They should also be able to withstand the stress of the working
environment such as heat, cold and inclement weather.
- It is recommended that all personnel employed to climb or use rope access techniques
should be medically fit to perform the work that they are likely undertake, and that a
suitable medical should be carried out to confirm this.
