Course Units Level 1: CAA Foundation Certificate in Building Craft Occupations;
Covering;
· Handle and store materials and components
· Remove and replace fittings and fixtures
· Cut, lay and fix components
· Mix materials
· Apply finishing materials
· Setting out
Level 2: CAA level 2 Diploma
Common units:
· Carry out safe working practices in construction
· Information, quantities and communicating with others
· Building methods and construction technology
Bricklaying units:
· Interpret working drawings to set out masonry structures
· Thin joint masonry and masonry cladding
· Build solid walling, isolated and attached piers
· Build cavity walling forming masonry structures
Carpentry units:
· Carry out first fixings operations
· Carry out second fixing
· Erect structural carcassing
· Carry out maintenance
Both level 2 courses constitute the technical certificate element of an apprenticeship in construction.
