Successfully completed this course will add the next layer in your portfolio of qualifications.

• the Construction HNC/Foundation Degree at the College
• the Civil Engineering HNC/Foundation Degree at the College
• or a wide range of careers in the construction industry.
Entry Requirements:
In our experience in order to be successful on this course you will need one of the following:

Duration: Two years Course Overview
What does the course involve?:
This course is equivalent to three A levels and can be used for progression to higher education. It also serves as a route into employment in a technician role.
Units studied include:
• health, safety and welfare
• construction and the environment
• construction technology and design
• construction science and materials
• graphical detailing
• measuring, tendering and estimating processes
• surveying processes/setting out processes
• economics and finance
• building technology
• environmental science
• building surveying/building services
• building regulations and control
• ICT and CAD.

Assessment for 16 of the units is internally set, and includes assessed and verified assignments. The other two units are externally set, internally assessed and verified externally.
