This innovative course has been designed to encompass the key aspects of construction, construction management and those contemporary issues that are high on the current long-term political agenda i.e. sustainability and value through procurement. You will acquire technical skills based on mathematics and science, contract law and practice that underpin the technical knowledge associated with construction skills - qualities and attributes required for a management role in the construction industry. The programme takes the knowledge of theory into practice through professional and transferable skills development appropriate for the industry.

Course programme

The Foundation Degree and top-up in Construction Management and Sustainable Practice is focused on those people that either wish to progress directly from a level 3 course of study, are currently in employment and want to enhance their career opportunities or those returning to education for the purpose of career progression.

The flexible delivery format addresses academic study whilst ensuring application of knowledge through work based learning, project based activities, distance and blended learning and traditional lectures. The modules have been designed with flexibility in mind allowing learners who may be required to work away from home are able to continue with their studies through distance learning (Appendix G). A key aim of the programme is to provide a widened participative opportunity for learners to gain a credible qualification whilst gaining momentum for future personal development within lifelong learning.
