Description:
For the vast majority of engineers, the work they are doing is governed, somewhere along the line, by a contract between a customer and a supplier. The contract should be clear and unambiguous. Engineering contracts can be among the most complex and demanding that are put in place, and often require input from a range of specialists, including engineers, scientists and project managers. This course has been designed to help those technical experts understand the fundamentals of contract law and intellectual property to maximise their contribution to the process. Participants will study model forms of contract and points of law, before moving to discuss the methods of drafting a contract. This course is highly practical and participants will have the opportunity to discuss their own real scenario contracts and gain the confidence to agree or dispute various clauses.
