The course is aimed at staff that have no previous experience in control and restraint techniques. It is taught by trained and experience trainers who have worked within challenged care establishments. The course is accredited by the British ju-jitsu society and the national institute of sport. Suitable for: Care staff working with vulnerable people or people who display challenged behaviour. It is designed for staff who find themselves in situations that put them or others in danger and that could result in the use of control and restraint.

Control and Restraint
This course is beneficial for all areas of the health and social care sector including children’s services and elder’s residential care. Although this course is physically challenging it is within the capability of most care staff and will benefit all who take part.
Course Content:
- Intervention techniques and communication
- De-escalation and assault cycle
- Reasonable force
- Health and legislations
- Holding levels 1-5
- Team restraints (against wall and face up, face down on the floor)
- Restraints with resistance and role-play
- Breakaways.
