Core Commercial Gas Safety

This gas safety assessment is designed to test the gas safety competence of an operative in Core Commercial gas work by practical and knowledge and understanding assessment.

This gas safety assessment comprises of 12 core competences:

• Gas Safety Legislation.
• Gas Emergency Actions and Procedures.
• Characteristics of Combustion and the Use of Flue Analysis Equipment.
• Commercial Ventilation Requirements.
• Installation of Pipework and Fittings (up to and including 35mm in size.
• Checking and/or Setting Commercial Supply and Meter Regulators.
• Identification of Unsafe Situations and the Use of Emergency Notices and Warning Labels
• The Operation of and Positioning of. Emergency Isolation Controls and Valves.
• Checking and Setting Commercial Appliances/Equipment Burner Pressures up to and Including 21 mbar.
• The Operation and Checking of Appliance Gas Safety Devices and Controls.
• Commercial Appliance Flueing Requirements.
