The CPD accredited special programme covers all aspects of making cosmetic products and is suitable for those who wish to start a new business or product range as well as those who have an interest in making products for friends and family.

The schedule is as follows:

T: Essential and fragrance oils
P: Making perfumes & room scenters

Day 2 - 10am – 5pm
T: Cosmetic Legislation
Getting your products certified for sale
GMP & PIP
T: Using colours in cosmetics
P: Making salt and sugar scrubs
P: Making bath fizz / melts

Day 3 - 10am – 5pm
P: Making candles
T: Cosmetic ingredients analysis, skin suitability, benefits, substitutes -
Unrefined, refined, natural, processed & synthetic
Shelf life, preservatives & antioxidants
Oil infusions, tissanes & extracts
T: Oil / water emulsions
P: Designing and making hot cloth and exfoliating cleansers (group exercise)

Day 4 - 10am – 5pm
P: Making traditional soap
T: Designing your own soap
SAP values
Superfatting
T: Other soaps making methods
Hot process
Slow cooker (crock pot) process
No heat process
Rebatching
