An in-depth, interactive course which gives delegates a full overview and understanding of the cosmetics regulations in the EU, and what you need to know to market a product. It covers the requirements under the new European Cosmetics Regulations EC1223/2009, fully implemented in July 2013, with background on what has changed from the old Cosmetics Directive.

the latest industry opinion where appropriate.

Valerie Hart is a clinical and consumer research consultant with over 20 years experience in the household and personal care, cosmetics, healthcare, pharmaceutical, food and medical device industries. She has extensive experience in pre-clinical research and has managed single centre and multicentre trials.

It covers the requirements under the new European Cosmetics Regulations EC1223/2009, fully implementedin July 2013, with background on what has changed from the old Cosmetics Directive.
Note: There are still aspects of the new Regulations that are undergoing review and the course tutors will endeavour to give the latest industry opinion on the situation.

Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course you will:
- Understand ‘borderline’ products, the definition of a cosmetic and how to differentiate cosmetics from medicinal and biocidal products
- Fully appreciate the legislation and guidelines involving cosmetics products (including ISO 22716)
- Be able to check if and how ingredients are regulated
- Have an awareness of product information file requirements
- Understand claim substantiation and product labelling
- Know how compliance can be enforced
