Additional information

Course Information The programme will also consider positive aspects of human behaviour, so as well as considering what causes psychological distress, you will also consider what underpins optimal human functioning and how we can move towards living a happier lifestyle. Towards that endeavour we will also consider what lessons we can learn from non-western culture. You will be encouraged to develop an understanding of vulnerable people and disadvantaged groups through two professional work placements, usually in the help and caring industries. Assessments in your third year will draw on your placement experiences to tackle real world issues through the use of case studies. On successful completion of the programme you will be qualified to apply for postgraduate training in Counselling Psychology or indeed in any other professional area of psychology. Alternatively, you would be well prepared to enter one of the help or caring professions or traditional graduate employment. Read our full course terms and conditions.
