About this course

We require evidence that you can study at undergraduate level and that you have some pre-degree study of counselling and/or have relevant experience. All potential students are interviewed. We also offer an Access to Counselling course for those who need a step up to taking the degree.

This practitioner-based course is a major step towards you becoming a professional counsellor or psychotherapist. You get a University qualification in Counselling Studies that’s useful and relevant to you and your professional development.

You will be taught in small groups by our supportive and enthusiastic tutors, who are all practicing counsellors, giving you a great learning experience.

As well as taking core modules in counselling you specialise in one of three different pathways that focus on the types of counselling currently in demand, improving your employability.

These pathways are:

Integrative Counselling:
this is an integration and synthesis of several different models of main stream counselling, combined in such a way as to facilitate a broad range of responses to a variety of personal problems.
