An 8 day course (for working with 10-18 yr olds), offered by the Centre for Child Mental Health.

Course Overview

"Counselling with Young People"; this course is ideal for counsellors who want to work with young people but have had little or no formal training in counselling adolescents.

Objectives

In addition to addressing the policy and practice contexts of school as a context for the work & policy frameworks such as the Common Assessment Framwork and other key DCSF and DOH policy documents concerned with the emotional well being of the child, the course will also offer "cutting edge" theory and practice, often based on new insights from neuroscientific research on child and adolescent brain development.
