Course programme
By the end of the course you will leave with at least one finished headpiece and many ideas for continued development of your work at home.
Topics covered include:
- how to create both traditional and innovative floral patterns in various fabrics including silk, with an emphasis on using fresh flowers as inspiration
- how to use traditional iron tools to create fabric flowers
- how to construct wire hairbands on which to attach flowers and other trimmings
- how to make and attach a veil
- other decorative techniques to enhance your creative work
Design is in the detail with accessories! Statement trims, fastenings, textural qualities and use of colour will all be considered. Playful experimentation and creative development are key so if you have lots of ideas, want to experiment with fabrics and can hand sew and embellish, then this class will be suitable.
By the end of the course you will leave with at least one finished piece headpiece, plus a sketchbook of ideas for your portfolio for further study and design exploration.
