Chartered Quality Institute (CQI) Quality Project (D5)

Course Content:
You will be expected to plan and complete a relevant quality related project, usually within your working environment, to include communication, design and research skills. Tutor guidance will be given on the selection of an appropriate project. Wherever possible, you are encouraged to undertake projects in collaboration with your employer. Full support is given by the college tutor throughout the course, but students are encouraged to plan their own time and work load to meet the required objectives.

Other Information:
You can study this course whether you are working in the service sector or in a manufacturing industry. Although informal feedback will be given throughout, formal assessment will be made at the end of the project, in the first instance by the college tutor and then the project is submitted to the CQI for moderation and final marking. There are guidelines issued by the CQI regarding the procedure and format to be followed and it is very important these are adhered to (these will be issued to students with a full explanation at the start of the course).

Progression:
Successful students can go on to study other modules with a view to achieving the CQI Diploma in Quality. To achieve the Diploma in Quality students work through four set modules and one optional module, together with this workplace project.
