Course Content:
You will study a range of quality improvement tools and techniques in the following units. Process improvement; Analysis and mapping techniques; Improvement techniques; Optimisation Techniques; Quality by design; Suppliers and Distribution; Overview of TS16949; Introduction to six-sigma.

Other Information:
If you are working in the automotive industry or want to gain a comprehensive knowledge of process improvement tools and techniques then this is appropriate for you. Assessment of this module consists of two elements as follows. 1 written assignment, marked by the college tutor (40%); A 2 1/2 hour written exam, externally set by the CQI (60%) (the exams are held annually in June and January). It will be possible to study individual Quality Tools and Techniques rather than the whole course.

Progression:
Successful students can go on to study other modules with a view to achieving the CQI Diploma in Quality. To achieve the Diploma in Quality students work through four set modules and one optional module, together with a practical workplace project within a quality environment.
