Creating Textile Design Collections (Online)

In this online course, you will learn how to apply textile design skills to create coordinated collections of soft furnishing items, tied together by your unique design elements. This course is ideal for students with some textile design experience, who want to tackle larger projects, or even prepare a collection to present to a retailer. By the end of the course you will produce a complete textile design collection.

During the course you will learn a range of techniques to help you make your ideas visually exciting, fresh and current. Each week you will explore, discover and experiment with new techniques, as well as engage in group discussions to find out what makes good designs and collections, how to communicate an idea visually, and ultimately how to work more professionally and even start your own practice.

This course is the follow up to Drawing and Painting for Textile Design.

Learning outcomes:
At the end of this course, you will be confident in creating a textile design collection from start to finish. You will have created two collections to be used in your portfolio using strong visual layouts that will greatly improve the visual communication of your ideas, concepts and designs, ready to be presented to top retailers and manufacturers.
