CREATIVE & MEDIA ADVANCED DIPLOMA
The Advanced Diploma in Creative & Media is studied over two years and is worth the equivalent of three and a half A levels. This Diploma is a new high-profile qualification developed to suit students who are ambitious to follow a career in the Creative Arts and Media industry, via Higher Education, or directly into employment.

You will follow an exciting, stretching, and relevant programme of learning whilst gaining exposure to creative sectors and industries of interest.

How will I be studying?
The Diploma consists of the following area

• Additional and Specialist Learning
• Functional Skills in Maths, English and ICT
• Personal Learning and Thinking Skills
• Work Experience
• Student Projects

The Advanced Creative & Media Diploma is studied over two years and is worth the equivalent of three and a half A levels. This Diploma is a new high-profile qualification developed to suit students who are ambitious to follow a career in the Creative Arts and Media industry, via Higher Education, or directly into employment.

The Advanced Diploma will give you a good introduction to a range of creative arts:

• 2-dimensional & 3-dimensional Art
  
• Graphics & Photo-imaging
  
• Fashion & Textiles
  

while allowing you to specialise in areas of strength or preference. So if you are enthusiastic about Creative Arts and want to make it the central part of your programme at the College, this is worth your consideration.

The full Diploma is also a valuable general qualification. In addition to the specialist learning (2 A levels worth), the Diploma includes another A level from our wide choice, thus widening your experience. Or - for somebody who is fully committed to Art - it can be combined with an Art A level. The Diploma also involves an individual extended project of your own choosing, and work placement experience - preferably in the local Arts industry. Finally you will be supported to achieve functional skills qualifications which will enhance your "employability"

What career opportunities are there?
A Diploma in Creative Arts will give you the skills you need for university, training and work and is a first step towards a future career in the sector. However, the diploma and Creative Arts doesn't mean you have to opt for a career in the sector. Because a Diploma teaches a mix of subjects, it will give you the skills that will be welcomed by colleges, universities and employers, no matter what you choose to do.

...and what else??
Students are encouraged to take a separate Art or Textiles A level as part of their Additional and Specialist Learning.

The A2 year is completed with an exhibition of students' work for assessment. We hold a private view evening to which friends and family are invited to come along for a glass of wine, some good conversation and a celebration of students' amazing achievements.
