This course will appeal to those interested in becoming professional writers as well as those who simple enjoy writing creatively (whether fiction or non-fiction). The study of Creative Writing helps to develop a range of key skills that can be applied in the real world, including clarity of thought and expression, critical and analytical skills, team working, giving and receiving feedback and creative problem solving.

How will I study?
Students will: be introduced to a range of different types of writing; learn to express themselves and their ideas; learn to reflect on intentions and outcomes; be introduced to the notion of writing a brief; and be introduced to the craft of writing by exploring writers' methods through the study of published texts. Unit 1: Writing on Demand | Unit 2: Exploring Creative Writing | Unit 3: From Reading to Writing | Unit 4: The Writing Portfolio
How will I be taught?
Lessons are designed to meet a range of learning styles and memory techniques. Activities include: discussion, matching tasks, problem solving tasks, presentations, "YouTube", radio and video extracts, educational quizzes / games, and comprehension tasks. Lessons include individual, pair and group tasks.
How will I be assessed?
Assessment is a combination of written coursework and examinations.
