Course programme

This course is split over three consecutive weeks and will start to explore how you might begin to approach writing for children. Week 1 – What Children Want – we will look at the range of possible protagonists (you will start to create your own), and discuss the various age brackets your work might appeal to and how there might (or might not) be a gender split. Week 2 – Developing Plot-lines – we will look more in depth at scene setting and the advancing action Week 3 – Reality or Fantasy, or a Fantastic Reality? - we will further explore your tone of writing and whether your are interested in creating characters that will continue in other works or amazing one-offs.
