Why you should attend this seminar
The pace of change in criminal law continues unabated. And yet, the pressures of casework reduce the time available to practitioners to keep up-to-date annually. Caseworkers are required to undertake a minimum of 6 hours of criminal law training annually.
This course is designed to fulfil these needs by examining recent developments in criminal law and considering their practical application. The LSC’s Specialist Quality Mark standard requires supervisors in the criminal category of work to keep up-to-date by attending courses carrying 6 CPD hours annually. Caseworkers are also required to undertake a minimum of 6 hours training annually relating directly to criminal law. Criminal Litigation Scheme members must also undertake at least 2 hours of general criminal law update training.
Programme includes
Recent courses have covered the following key issues:
- Serious Crime Act 2007
- Road Safety Act 2006
- Recent case law on criminal procedure
- Bad character refresher and update
- Recent hearsay cases
Accredited by the Bar Standards Board for 6 CPD hours.
